Booth ALT1

This body of work consists of a range of media, which is attributable to Ulriche’s method of gathering visual and material information. The booth is an installation-based representation of the community and landscape in Elim. It alludes to visual cues, motifs and metaphors specific to the environment and daily life, for example fynbos, gravel roads, agricultural fields, bodies of water, historic buildings, children in go-karts. Natural features are in conversation with figurative aspects reflecting the people active in the environment, piecing together events and observations to create a personal record of the Ulriche’s memories and experiences in Elim.

Ulriche Jantjes was born in 1997 in Cape Town, South Africa.
